Corporate Events with Steve Buzzard: The 2nd Annual ASSC Olympics

Corporate events don’t have to feel corporate.


The best ones bring people together, create some friendly competition and give coworkers an opportunity to connect outside their normal work environment.

That was exactly the atmosphere at the 2nd Annual ASSC Olympics, hosted at Hillenbrand Farmhaus Brewery.


Nearly 30 Teams. Eleven Events. One Great Day.

Close to 30 teams representing Air Systems Service & Construction competed in 11 different events for prizes, bragging rights and plenty of laughs.

My role was to serve as the event’s emcee and DJ—keeping the competition organized, maintaining the energy and providing the soundtrack throughout the day.

I was also trusted with one of the most important responsibilities: announcing the raffle winners!

That combination is what I enjoy most about corporate events. I can serve as both your professional emcee and your “music man,” helping the event move smoothly while keeping everyone engaged.


More Than Just Playing Music

A successful corporate DJ does more than create a playlist.

The job is to understand the event, communicate clearly and recognize when the energy needs to be turned up—or when the music needs to take a back seat so an announcement can be heard.

For the ASSC Olympics, that meant helping with:

  • Event announcements

  • Competition transitions

  • Background music

  • Raffle drawings

  • Winner recognition

  • Overall energy and event flow

The goal was to support the organizers and help create an experience the employees would remember.

It was a pleasure working with their team and seeing so many employees embrace the competition and enjoy the day together.
